But juice was making emo songs before X died
I do see why people called him a X or uzi clone because he got popular right around the time X died
I think X's biggest flaw was that alot of his songs seemed like unfinished ideas, but he was still so young so I'm sure he could've worked on that
But his style changed after X died. But it could also be because he was on tour with Ski.
X was on his way to be huge, the fact that he was doing this all by himself proves it. If he had the slightest of help from a vet in hip hop, he would’ve flourished. X dying made Kanye do a song with Pump and 6IX9INE, (the Pump one was more for laughs) imagine a Kanye co-sign right after
Dropped. That album went #1 and had a top 10 single. All done by his self.
But we’ll never know cuz he’s dead RIP.
who said dat s***? Lord Jamar or something?
there's always a group of old heads in every era saying things are wack or unskilled.

Sure but I can't remember any old rappers who were hating on those groups though.

i don't think his style changed that much after x died apart from maybe a couple harder songs every now and then. Legends tribute song really gained him a lot of residual X fans tho

It ain’t just old heads now tho. You literally have all of music on your phone now. Niggas can compare and contrast music more easily. A kid will tell you a song is trash too

if they saying the era is wack they saying the artists suck
I dont see any old heads specifically hating on individual acts i named right now dont mean people dont criticize this era

Lmao social media hates in general because its fun to do it. That's not real hate. There's more artists right now with some longevity than the early 10s.

what makes me sad is X never got to do so many things. never was in the studio with Ye, never really had a chance to do a whole tour. never even got to be on television really

That’s true but how many of them gon keep making music in 10 years. I said in a thread earlier that rappers from 10 years ago would have had a better career if they started their rap career in this era because of social media. Now, Once you’re in you’re in Unless you’re f***in up really bad. Which is why rappers tried harder back then, they had to actually be good to be acknowledged

Yeah you sleepin on Kodak fam, even his big singles he spittin some hard s***
He couldn't even finish a song half the time and made up for his lack of polish by superficially skimming other genres. To pretend he was some savant is laughable. That clumsy ass XXL cypher is a perfect example of him not transcending his peers. He was just dysfunctional and teenagers in particular confuse that for innovation.

Fr man, he was really bout to start his whole journey. Dude changed so much within that year.
Did X not record alot of music?
it seems like all his post death s*** was just half finished verses or hooks
There’s a lot. A lot of these newer guys are really good at rapping. Everyone named ITT.
But because they don’t deliver and flow their rhymes like traditional rap(boring) it’s seen as not being able to rap. Pretty weird
Its just aight..he's good at making songs

On par with his pre-death s***. He was a flake.
