His post soundcloud music was never really that special, highly derivative, and bro was carried by shiloh dynasty samples.

man i was shocked to hop on whosampled and find out that Jocelyn Flores s*** was an outright loop

  • Jul 26, 2023

um no... he was a man

  • Jul 26, 2023

nothing wrong with loops but s*** that was supposed to be bro’s signature song

i thought it was at least a chopped up flip of something

I don’t think this kid was from earth! His music was so good I had to stop listening! He was ahead of his time to be so young! This kid would have been a GOAT but to me he is already! In your opinion, was XXXTentacion a GOAT?

impact wise on his generation and the ones after yes

he was experimental as f*** even before he blew up but still had all the pieces to blow up and become a mainstream artist and a leader of a cult of fans

But the music he made with his 1 year of fame doesn’t live up to his insane potential

if he was alive today it would be no questions

    Dead rappers get better promotion.

  • Jul 26, 2023

Rather we like it or not to a certain generation I guarantee he will be!!!

Wasn’t my type of person or music but to act like his little 1 1/2 year mainstream run wasn’t some of the craziest hype and love I’ve seen a artist ever get would be disingenuous

Pretty good artist, but not a goat. I was a fan during his aggressive, early SoundCloud days and really think that was the bag that separated him from the rest. With that said tho, I understand that he progressed into making a lot more melancholic music that connected with a wider audience as people felt that way more and it allowed people to feel comfortable expressing themselves more. He had an amazing range to pick from and it sadly wasn’t fully realized. Lyrically, he was pretty creative in directing you towards a certain vibe and did it really well, tho there was a lot of cringe (but that’s every artist). His music was def not surface level emotionally tho

To me he was at his best when in his aggressive bag but I understand why people prefer the deeper, more haunting sounds he was able to develop. He coulda been a goat cause he had the cult following + mainstream attention + was pushing forward the connection between artist and fan + had a wide range of sounds to choose from

Tough to say, needs more time

Don’t have to be to get a bigger audience, could also just be because you don’t want that energy in your life so you make a shift

hes upthere with cobain so yes hes the goat

Never said he made the shift to get a bigger audience lol. Said his sound shifted which allowed for more connection with a bigger audience

Yea its a real shame he was killed before he was allowed the time to further polish his craft.

His growth from his mixtapes to 17 to “?”was remarkable, especially so in his ability to craft a catchy song. Some of the stuff on SKINS sounds like it could have been really really special.

Lil Peep is compared to Kurt Cobain a lot but as far as being able to make a really good pop song while not losing touch with his darker point of view XXX has that in spades

And to people who think being depressed is a personality trait
