ktt/internet crowd gonna be extra harsh on this cause of the music choices but s*** was pretty basic. shults showing his age doing a modern high school / teen movie and all of the songs are alt pop and like 3-4 years old minimum. s*** was giving me suicide squad vibes
f*** buttons? maad city? yeezus? Kids in high school now that listen to more than half the soundtrack would be major lames not gettin invites to any parties

lmao it was straight up like he put his personal favorites playlist on que throughout the entire movie. What really had me was when Lucas Hedges asked "is this blood orange?" when an animal collective song came on

bro filmmakers gotta stop projecting their tastes onto “normal folk” theyre trying to portray. most ppl don’t listen to alt s*** lol not saying they can/can’t do this or that but don’t make it so obvious
films directed by a white man relax lol
constant montages too how many indie cliches does this movie have?
first half hour felt like an episode of Euphoria with the montages

Unmotivated changes in aspect ratios.

only song choice that was kinda cringe to me was ifhy during the breakup scene
deffo the only thing closest to a flaw for me
He directed, written, and co-produced this flick.
My gut instincts are telling me that Shults had a huge influence towards this film.
apparently Kelvin Harrison Jr had a huge influence towards this

although tyler deffo looks like a cool kid i think the point was to also show that he kind of wasn’t. (i.e. not really knowing any of alexis’ friends)
the friends he was hanging around seemed like the type of people to listen to that music no lie
Just saw at the cinema, really didn’t rate it. Didn’t really feel any attachment to the characters and a lot of it came of cringey with the amount of music they put it. Started leaning towards a dedication to frank ocean by the end
toxicity of this thread makes me not want to watch this movie
Change ur tampon and watch the movie lmao the f***
Wait he killed her off a slap?
Nah it was a punch, seen the movie about five times
