It was my birthday yesterday but I was to tired after going out, instead of cooking everything up and I had a leftover sushi platter from lunch. Tonight im having the supper i bought which was 30 something oysters, steak, lobster and a cigar after! Boiling the lobster now and cant wait! I saved so much money from quitting smoking weed, this meal cost the amount of weed I would smoke in a few days. I also still drank alcohol and vaped/smoked cigarettes, a couple days or maybe a single night. Pretty crazy.
happy birthday g

finally went to oks deli.. ngl it was not bad but also not really for me. don’t think i’ll ever have a reason to go back, not because the food isnt good but because it’s just not something that i would ever crave.
sichuan hot chicken sandwich.. the seasoning on the
chicken pretty much makes it tastes like boba shop spicy popcorn chicken and that’s why i’ll never crave this sandwich (if im paying premium prices for a chicken sandwich i don’t want it to remind me of mystery meat nuggets from a boba shop lol the chicken was good/high quality tho) sesame bun was good. would have preferred some typa pickle instead of regular cucumber slices as well.
also bakesale betties is like 2 blocks down the street and they make a fried chicken sandwich that’s more my style.
sisig bolillo sandwich.. this was the more interesting sandwich of the two but again not something i will ever crave. the pig head meat filling was good but it had a really strong soy sauce type flavor so i would prolly enjoy it more w a bowl of rice than in between some bread w mayo n s***. the bolillo bread was incredible tho.. looks like a really hard bread but it’s actually soft and chewy in the center with just a thin crispy layer of crust.. would love to try a more traditional/western style sandwich w that bread.. also came w a sunny side egg in the middle which was a nice touch but also made it kind of a mess to eat
guess i’m just not a big fan of strong asian flavors in a sandwich.. love banh mi tho
i know im making it sound like this place is ass but it’s not and i still think it’s def worth trying at least once/try and decide for yourself type beat.

camera quality
if they changed the seasoning on the chicken sandwich, would it have been better? cause it looks fire

maybe but also the asian seasoning is kinda the selling point and if it didn’t have that it would just be a regular fried chicken sandwich and you can get a much better one down the street at a spot that’s been making the same sandwich for like 3 decades now.
again the sandwich/chicken wasn’t bad at all it’s just not what i want when i crave a fried chicken sando.
kinda like how i think detroit pizza is good but it’s never the style of pizza i want when im craving pizza (10/10 it’s gonna be a thin ny style slice) so i never have a reason to get it
might make a blooms end trip this week
she hyping up some special fan favorite tomato pastry i haven’t tried yet

Nashville hot chicken sandwich. 8/10. Chicken was fried beautifully but wasnt even hot.
Patty melt. 9/10. Sourdough bread wouldve taken this over the top to a 10/10. I added the egg and bacon.
Bacon Jam Burger 9/10
Had pizza, homemade hot wings with one of the sauces from hot ones, a Cuban cigar and chocolate ice cream 🍦
strongest drink ive ever heard of
How Do I Compare
1/4oz cointreau
1/2oz benedictine
3/4oz bourbon
3/4oz apple brandy
somehow still fairly balanced despite being 40%abv lol
I ordered in some chow mein, i got a bit of work to do tonight and wanted somethign quick and cozy. But they gave me someone else’s order with a chow mein AND lemon chicken, which is like 40 bucks and said i could keep it. Im so psyched lol lemon chicken is better than the chow mein i originally ordered too
