Was still fiending for baked goods and just hit this local spot and all I got is the muffins left
Half sweet half salty/savory for balance
Egg cheese and avocado on a pretzel roll
Turkey cheddar tomato pickle Dijon on an oven toasted french roll
@proper you were right, I don't usually f*** with crissoants and thought the tour de jours ones were pretty good but I thought about what you said and got one from this spot and goddamn it was better, perfect mix of crispy and fluffy, spinach and cheese
Don't usually f*** with filled baked goods either but both of those Berliners were crazy too, donut part was perfect

@proper there's a ton of Korean food in/near my neighborhood
You got any suggestions for dishes I should try?

la galbi/bulgogi/spicy pork/dak gui/dakgalbi (Korean teriyaki chicken) - la galbi the superior choice but almost everyone loves all 4
soft tofu stew - but this is better at places that specialize in this. Crack the raw egg into the soup and mix it so it cooks
dolsot bibimbap - make sure to put gochujang im it and mix the s*** out of it before you eat it so you get everything w each spoonful/bite
Kimchi pancake/seafood pancake
Japchae - glass noodles w veg and beef (non Koreans absolutely love this s***)
Gom tang - white bone broth soup w meat. This s*** also only good at places that specialize in it. It comes unsalted so make sure to add salt and pepper to taste or else it will be bland. My favorite is the oxtail version but they also got one w brisket.
Korean fried chicken - any flavor fire but soy garlic prolly my fave
Daktoritang - spicy chicken stew w potatoes and carrots n s***
Galbi Jim - braised short ribs w like soy based marinade. The really fire spots will have this w cheese and rice cakes. Fire.
Chinese Korean foods
Jajangmyun - black bean sauce w noodles. Looks kinda weird but smacks
Gampoong chicken - type of fried chicken. Pretty much the generic name for those Chinese wings that are hella famous in San Francisco.
jjamppong - spicy seafood noodle soup
Tang soo yuk - sweet and sour pork. Ask for sauce on the side or else s*** gonna be mushy and not crispy
korean bar food
Fried chicken
Corn cheese
Fish cake soup - so simple and might sound weird but so fire
Gamjatang - spicy pork neck stew w potatoes and perilla n s***. One of my faves.
Korean pancakes w makgoli (Korean alc)
Yogurt soju or any flavored mixed soju
korean bbq
brisket and pork belly the top 2 most popular. Make sure to use the sesame oil salt pepper sauce and the samjang/soybean paste sauce since mest isn’t marinated or seasoned
If it’s all you can eat start w the brisket since it’s lean and you can eat a lot, then do the pork belly, then do marinated meats at the end
I’m sure I’m missing hella s*** but this all I can think of off top atm these are all things that should be easy to find in any Korean spot and also easy to eat
also the way i spelled some of these dishes in English may not be the way they are spelled at the restaurants in Boston but should be similar

Tteok-bokki - spicy rice cakes w fish cake. Very fire
Also buddaejigae/army stew - spicy Korean style stew w western ingredients like spam and cheese and instant ramen. Sounds funky but very fire

I don’t watch mukbang except for this one which is mukbang but not weird asmr style

galbi = short ribs so it’s always gonna be made w short ribs
la just means lateral cut so you get thin strips of Meat w three little bones in it.
Regular galbi is cut so the short rib meat wraps around the bone so it’s like one long piece of meat w a big piece of bone at the end. Usually costs more and tastes slightly better but la galbi the more popular one
Also add yukaejang to the list too
Spicy shredded beef soup w thin noodles and this stringy vegetable I don’t know the name of but is fire
I could eat ham and cheese croissant everyday for lunch/breakfast tbh

Make it turkey for me and I feel the same way
That spinach and cheese croissant I had this morning was game changing

Preciate the knowledge
Was worried about them being pork ribs so that's why I was hyped when I saw that they were beef
(If any part of this is dumb just know it's because I don't got experience with ribs)
Place less than half a mile from me got la galbi as a special and the seafood pancake on the menu too so I'll probably run that on Thursday
Shook on if it's going to be filling though cause just those two are 39 together and I be hungry as hell

yeah la galbi will always be expensive at youll most likely get 3-4 strips which is like 9-12 pieces of meat but it should come w rice and some sides/banchan as well.
seafood pancakes are usually pretty big tho unless it’s on an all you can eat menu then prolly smaller.

Reviews are saying all the beef broth stuff here is really good too so I might go all out and just add an extra dish to make sure I'm really eating good
See japchae, let's see what else
