Ahead of the vote, Museveni's government shut down social media outlets in Uganda, from Facebook and Instagram to Twitter. It also sent military vehicles into the streets.

Not 100% sure how accurate those are, but I guess u could see them as alternative ways the continent could have been
Also depending on how tribes divided up the land between themselves and stuff
So like tribes were divided up by the colonizer partitions obv to where s*** didn't make sense

If you want the major players in africa pre-colonialization, look into
look into egypt and ethiopia. they were the major feudalistic / more developed areas
Also look into Songhai, Nubia, the maghreb, the western sudan, zimbabwe.
Keep in mind Egypt/ethiopia were just becoming fuedalistic and developing out of communalism at this time so obviously there are no precise state borders

africatimes.com/2021/07/27/kenyans-sue-british-army-over-wildfire-damage-near-training-site
Some 1,000 Kenyans are suing the British military, after a wildfire back on March 24 destroyed part of a wildlife conservation area and affected people in the surrounding communities.
Lawyers for the Kenyans say the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) started the fire while conducting military training exercises. The BATUK unit is based at Nanyuki, not far from the Loldaiga sanctuary and Laikipia.
The fire destroyed some 12,000 acres at Loldaiga and claimed the lives of some protected animals, although just how many remains unclear and the Kenya Wildlife Service initially denied any such losses.
More difficult was the reported death of at least one Kenyan villager whose widow is a part of the lawsuit.
The British government acknowledged responsibility at the time of the incident but has fought against claims made by the African Center for Corrective and Preventive Action, an environmental group that acts on behalf of the affected communities and is a party to the lawsuit.
“We’re doing everything we can to mitigate the circumstances and put in place measures to ensure it never happens again,” said Jane Marriott, the British diplomat serving Kenya, at the time of the fire.
The African center says villagers complained of health impacts from the blaze, as well as loss of livelihood and broader environmental damage. A Kenyan court in June denied the British army’s request to prevent the villagers from joining in the lawsuit. A separate ruling on whether the case may proceed is expected soon.

africatimes.com/2021/07/23/africans-still-seeing-covid-surge-amid-demand-for-vaccines
Health officials say a slight overall dip in COVID cases on the African continent is welcome, but it doesn’t reflect the reality in many nations that are seeing a surge.
New case numbers were down by 1.8 percent during the week ending July 18, according to numbers cited Friday by the World Health Organization. But South Africa accounts for 37 percent of cases and when it’s removed from the mix, other countries collectively are seeing a nine-week surge.
Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, the African region’s WHO director, said the “third wave” surge is now at a crossroads. At least 13 countries have seen a rise in the demand for oxygen to treat patients because of the surge.
“Let us be under no illusions,” said Moeti. “Africa’s third wave is absolutely not over. The small step forward offers hope and inspiration but must not mask the big picture for Africa.”
Most Africans are still waiting for access to COVID vaccines, including 25 million doses donated by the United States. Some 500 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine will begin moving in August and many are destined for the African continent, according to a U.S. Department of State briefing on Wednesday.
At the same time, Nigeria ran out of vaccines and has awaited new doses. Botswana and Namibia are encouraging their citizens to take whatever vaccine is available and assuring them that all the vaccines are approved for COVID prevention.
There’s a new deal to “finish” the manufacture of Pfizer vaccines in South Africa, but leaders continue to press for a full transfer of the technologies that will allow Africans to make their own vaccines without relying on Europe for the early stages of the process.
