Im just over this idea that Hip Hop is something for everybody to discuss. Especially authenticity in it being discussed by an 18 year old rich white girl literally from the valley who pretends to be sad for sales.
S*** is wack and I don't see how people wil defend this beyond "its her opinion".
I just don’t understand how certain things aren’t just generally understood you shouldn’t speak on?
Ah ok nvm. Is he also Latino or just your mom?
his side is latino as well. which is why I dont really claim blackness

not tryna argue your point but hiphop = pop/mainstream now. everyone gon have an opinion about it regardless of race and socioeconomic status
And out here caping for a white woman?
I am caping for women. If Lizzo said this the thread would be going bananas
I just don’t understand how certain things aren’t just generally understood you shouldn’t speak on?
i mean she should understand the nuances that come with being a celebrity and putting a statement out in the world, she can speak on it but it should probably be called out unil she gets a better understanding of the genre and people as a whole and how the same s*** she’s commenting on is present in all genres

Na you goin bout this completely wrong fam.
You a nigga whether you like it or not might as well embrace your culture
Don’t understand Latinos that do this :(

I was referring to M2, but regardless in the scenario Lizzo would be more understandable because she doesn't have any persona songs nor braggdocious songs to my knowledge but at the same time she'd still be wrong too because what the f*** Lizzo know about what these niggas did or doing.
I’m literally 1/10th lol
Fair enough I guess. I’m only like 1/4 and still claim that s***. I also don’t look white at all. I’m Latino as well btw
i wonder who this is directed towards. what if she's taking about drake. omg i'm scared.

Thats bullshit Hip Hop is only pop when non blacks are doing it or have something to say on it. We aint seen a nigga win a big four Grammy in years wit a full rap song.
We still got clueless white girls like Billie opening they mouths on it too so nah stop that "Hip Hop is pop culture" s*** & be clear it's only pop when certain people do it or have something to say on it.
Any other time it's "I got AK 47s" and "I got b****es" as Ms.Ellish said in OP.
Edit- To add to this Hip Hop dances, style and sounds are mainstream but the people who make it are still as disposable as ever
