Don't think there's anything Kendrick does as a rapper that's superior to Drake or that Drake has shown he can't do.

I don't think the inverse is true though.

Tbh only thing I would say is the stories and concepts Kendrick raps about are more unique than Drake.
Tbh never been shocked by anything Drake raps about. It’s more about the way he raps about it.
You know he’s going to talk about relationship woes, smashing groupies, riding with his dawgs and how everyone is hating on his success. Every single album is about that

I think diversity in rap is kind of overrated. Everyone has their wheelhouse. I wouldn't want to hear Kendrick do a "her loss" and I wouldn't want Drake to do a "Big Steppers"

It's about how great you are at what you do.

  • He himself said he didn't.

"Come on...You think I'm going to get any help with the timestamp records or Marvin's room?" - Drake to Elliott Wilson and B Dot

Same interview he talked about the assistance that he gets, so it's not like he denied it.

If you don't believe his honesty, then that's a different story.

I remember Kendrick when I saw him for his Overly Dedicated show at the El Rey back in the day.

    He was the one.

It's a shame that as his career has grown and got longer in the tooth, he's become kind of a caricature of his image. He used to have the perfect balance of pop appeal and substance.

Cut You Off, P**** and Patron, The whole Section 80 and Good Kiid.

    sigh.

If my favorite rapper dropped his first great record since 2013, I’d be (embarrassingly so) comparing him to the GOATs too.

Been thinking about this after The Big Steppers dropped but he doesn't have the same appeal he did in the 2010s

    Hope he can bounce back

His last album was great though

I can't believe i'm reading some of the comments in here and people are actually saying that Drake is a better rapper than Kendrick, lol

I'm sorry, but on Drake's best day, he's still not f***ing with Kendrick as a rapper. I understand Drake dropped a dope album with 21 Savage but let's not kid ourselves here. This is still Kendrick f***ing Lamar we're talking about here.

Why is HL the first universally loved Drake record since NWTS? It’s time for a dialogue.
