I remember Kendrick when I saw him for his Overly Dedicated show at the El Rey back in the day.

He was the one.

It's a shame that as his career has grown and got longer in the tooth, he's become kind of a caricature of his image. He used to have the perfect balance of pop appeal and substance.

I think it's obvious that the Middle of the Ocean type records or the Too Much type records he does blindfolded and needs very little on those.

My man Kendrick would be a boring ass artist if he just made Section.80 and GKMC for the rest of his career. I’m glad he got “weird”.
