I think people definitely can build a platform online and on forums

But it’s not easy and this is the most important part of what you said imo

Otherwise, @YoungNastyShawty said it best, yall only really jump on artists when they get popular. If someone's rising or if somebody is the first to tell yall bout it, yall don't give them niggas any love. Topaz Jones barely got talked about on here and Kenny Mason is JUST now getting popularity hence now this site talks bout him at length. Hell, out of all threads I've made about my own s***, the one that's gotten the most pages (besides my artist thread) is the one where I was in a complex post lol.

People are framing this as an issue about creative encouragement when it’s not. It’s an issue w the content y’all choose to engage with on here. People making threads about new artists or posting their own music or putting effort into recommendations and reviews and etc get minimal engagement. But the 10th will smith thread of the week gets 30 pages. If you think KTT has a problem w discussion or w people finding new artists or etc then go and engage w the peoples threads who actually put the effort into doing this rather than just trying to get your hot takes or jokes off or be in an argument elsewhere on the site

From our end we’re definitely trying to figure out how we can reward this and encourage it beyond just letting the community drive the direction because clickbait and etc have ruined that ability on social media sites but it’s not an easy problem to solve but it’s an easy thing that people can do to make this site better

Lowkey I think an artist subsxn like what we have with ye and s*** would be the best answer, that way artists would be able to talk about s*** easy and music sxn posters could pop in and take a look whenever they wanted to without having to go out the way
