I mean think about it this way

If people are still traveling, but people are already quarantining then the risk is lower for more people

They downplayed it lol. It was a hoax, and don’t forget about what shorty from New York was saying. Now look at em. By the time people took it seriously it was already too late tbh.

This. And at the end of the day you still got hella workers out traveling and interacting with 100s of people a day still. Then you can catch it by being around people in the grocery store and other places. Locking people in from the jump would’ve done some justice but a lot of people still would’ve caught it imo just off the strength of people still having to leave out.

The government fumbled this, idc what anyone say.

Been indoors for like a month now. I just want to communicate face to face with people outside. This is depressing.

Yea it saddens me these people don't understand that if they simply just stay inside, this pandemic could potentially end sooner

Government are to blame way more than people are

There are doctors, nurses, drivers all other frontline workers who still have work and don’t have any protection.

It’s especially worse for those in the medical field dealing directly with people who have the virus because they are getting it themselves due to no PPE.

Not my fault for people not thinking for themselves and taking precautions or even taking notice

It got into the US, that was inevitable

But to choose to stay ignorant throughout every update we’ve received from January, that’s different

The government is always gonna be that way, I’m not surprised at any of the governments doing

But people should still have common sense to see an increasing issue and take precautions

It’s been officially labeled a pandemic for a month now and the cases are increasing immensely

How much of that, aside from essential workers, are contributed by people ignorantly rejecting to stay at home?

it’s been labelled a pandemic for a month and yet governments only put in lockdowns a month after it was clear that this virus was a big deal and other countries had reported numerous deaths.

people still need to travel for food and medicine, exercise but also there are people that need that WORK. Essential workers from the supermarket to the hospitals to transportation.

the purpose of a lockdown is to limit interaction. there isn’t really anything bad with people going out but it is bad if they are mixing with others.

yes there are people not being compliant but at the same time it clearly shows that this isn’t everyone.

just look at that one governor in nevada trying to ease the lockdown

At this point, it’s only sensible that people leave their house for work (essential) groceries or medicine

And we should’ve have had to wait for the government to issue a lockdown or self quarantine for people to be concerned about their own health

Mind you people were still going to beaches and bars and public large gatherings during the rise of the pandemic in early March up until the very last minute that they were closed countrywide

fear of losing your job to a company that doesn’t give a s*** about your health says a lot about most of us and I’m not afraid to say it

yes but don’t let governments try to blame the people and shift blame away from them

governments slow to act are to blame big time

The thing is, if they acted fast in the liberal West, there would be no support among the population at all. In the beginning, when the first cases where there they said in Europe and the US: it's just like the flu, where thousands die from every year.

While in Asia and Africa, where they had more recent virus outbreaks w SARS and Ebola etc. they immediately did the lockdown after a couple cases. So it peaked less there. We never had that experience. And yes, many intelligent people said (also based on the far past, like the Spanish flu) that how faster the lockdown, how lower the peak. But if government wouldve closed everything down that early here, with no recent bad virus outbreaks, it wouldve caused mass protests. It's actually one of the weak points of democratic countries, who are mostly slower to act. Cause they need the support of their citizens and we are used to freedom and human rights etc. If it happens again in the upcoming years, i think our governments would respond much faster tho
