on one hand, i don’t like how this pocket watching is becoming normalized, on the other hand im genuinely surprised that this man can house every homeless vet and give everyone in need chemo. Like these people can really do amazing things with their money and still choose not to

Well what's worse lol pocket watching or the fact that people are dying each day because of rich people hoarding their wealth.

I’m just tryna look at both sides, in the case that I was bezos, yes I’d donate donate donate. The guy made 40b in a month if I remember what it said correctly. Like he could singlehandedly make america a MUCH better place, if not the entire world, but is it truly his responsibility to do so?

It's our responsibility to push for social change to where this inequality is not even a possibility in the first place.

no burden like that should be on a single man. the system shouldn't be set up in a way for this to exist. it doesn't make sense at all

he's permitted to act in other ways as well, so i don't see your point lol

but thats why the point is to dismantle the system that allows people to indulge in exploitation and greed.

So the average person makes $1.7 million in their lifetime. With a billion dollars, you could give 588 people an average lifetime earnings in one lump sum payment.

Assuming you have 5 kids, and they all have 5 kids, and your grandkids all have 5 kids, you could give $1.7 million to your kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and almost all of your great grandkids as well. That would be enough for all of them to live comfortably average, and they could still make their money on top of that. That’s crazy
