It doesn’t need to be his responsibility per se, but it’s his responsibility to pay taxes which he seems to go to great lengths to avoid
about how much would he have in the case that he did pay taxes? what are some measures that can be made to ensure the rich (corps as well) pay their taxes?
I personally thought that the chemo point was one of the weakest ones in the slideshow. Shows more how there's still so much more work to do in cancer research rather than cancer treatment and shows how ridiculous health care cost can be
the same costs covered in that slideshow could also be covered if the government spent like 1% less on defense. spending trillions on trillions every year, but can’t make sure the soldiers they love so much have a place to lay their heads when they come back
and you’re right healthcare is just as entrenched in the system as bezos is if not moreso
Main thing I felt while scrolling was motivation. I'm tryna get like this man.
Probably won't ever see anything close to a billion but I'm getting at least 10 mil before I die.
yo jeff let me get a small mill real quick you won’t even notice

that is insulting
Do you know what wealth means?
Owning wealth in the form of capital in stead of cash doesn't make you less wealthy, in fact it gives you more control over society in many ways.
i was wondering why people were requoting that

I don’t really want to get into that debate, my point was just the while I don’t necessarily agree in principle that he should just be forced to hand over money as others seem to be suggesting, it’s his responsibility to pay taxes which, for someone of that immense wealth would actually be a significant contribution to society.
He doesn’t appear to do this in the way that he morally should (legally perhaps a different matter), so in the case of him and others like him - yes they do have a responsibility to put money into society, and I’d happily see them forced to hand it over somehow if they refuse to pay tax
on one hand, i don’t like how this pocket watching is becoming normalized, on the other hand im genuinely surprised that this man can house every homeless vet and give everyone in need chemo. Like these people can really do amazing things with their money and still choose not to
i mean is he supposed to cut off 9b worth of amazon to house the homeless veterans? nobody is gonna destroy their own company for public welfare.
people love defending the rich. you have more in common with a person living paycheck to paycheck than jeff f***ing bezos.
We know you hate capitalism because you’re a loser who failed in a capitalist society, but not everyone bases their views on emotions like you do lol.
