I think y’all are really exaggerating the impact of Crew Love lmao.

Song came out way after House of Balloons and Thursday had already gave him huge attention online on the blogs and it wasn’t even released as a single until July of 2012.
It peaked at #80 on the Hot 100, and for context Wicked Games was released around the same time as a single, and that got all the way to #53.
Just because it was a feature on a popular artist’s album doesn’t mean that it automatically got him mainstream exposure.

Yes, Drake gave him a huge look by shouting him out on the OVO Blog, but I would not say that Crew Love was some huge turning point in Weeknd’s trajectory towards stardom.
