Its safe to say that this is his prime

When he dropped that 40 shades of gray single, 3rd album in, he started his prime

After hours is not his best album, he’s been around 10yrs of course the numbers are up, but after hours sounds like a simpler approach of Starboy

Okay, lets first talk about music quality. Since people's musical tastes are subjective, we can only judge music quality here based on the general public's agreement or disagreement on an album.

Here is the metacritic for all of his albums.

As you can see, based on this, After Hours is the highest rated project out of all his albums within the general listener/critics.

In terms of popularity, there is no question that this is most successful year sales/streaming wise.

Blinding Lights is his biggest song to date.

The album itself was literally his biggest yet first sales wise

After Hours’ first week total of 444,000 equivalent album units comprises 275,000 in album sales, 163,000 in SEA units and 6,000 in TEA units. The album’s SEA sum equates to 220.7 million on-demand streams of the set’s tracks in its first week. After Hours’ streaming start was so big, the album would have been No. 1 on the Billboard 200 even if it hadn’t sold a single copy.

And to top it all off, he's headlining the Superbowl for crying out loud! Probably the biggest stage for an artist to be on.

So it's 100% fair to say that he is in his prime right now, compared to BBTM & Starboy era.

Simpler approach of starboy....

All of the choruses to all starboy songs are reflected in the title. Starboy was a good album but it was way too much filler and predictable as hell

Listen to save your tears, it’s a dumbed down Starboy song, then at the end he does the daft punk vocoder sound

Starboy was him rapping/flowing/ smooth RnB singing with groovy pop songs

After hours is heavier pop, with remade Starboy groovy pop, and his music video approach
