it’s implied? op didn’t imply s***, he just copy pasted the thread title lmao
he was talking about music, and I don’t even agree with him. artists should whatever the f*** the want, you are the one that brought up race for controversy
It’s so funny how people not from the US get so pressed whenever race gets brought up
It’s really revealing

Explain yourself more, I’m very interested with what you have to say

You delusionally think because you don’t live in the US that we somehow live in a post racial society where “race doesn’t matter” despite whatever country you’re in being just as f***ing s***ty

I respect you caring so much, should have cared more about your homie tho
You know what…now that I think about it. Was these guys ever really “R&B”? Or they just got put in that category
Fr. It’s the only song that would still be considered r&b if a white artist sang it
HOB/Glass Table Girls? High For This? The Morning? The Party and the After Party? The Knowing? Wicked Games? Coming Down? Loft Music?
Alternative pop songs with goth and/or hiphop influence sprinkled in at best. But absolutely not r&b without the context of a black artist attached
After re-listening, im surprised I remember it as solely an r&b album
This also begs The question, do you consider his Kissland to be r&b

Don’t worry it isn’t just you. We’re all conditioned to see “black and sung non-dance music = r&b”
Kissland is 100% pop
The most consistently r&b thing about pre-BBTM Weeknd is that some of the drum rhythms vaguely resemble mid-late 90s r&b drum rhythms lol

lol one of his first big songs was him singing over The Eagles
I'm surprised y'all to managed force a few pages of race discussion into this thread more than anything. I hate y'all mothafuckers so much man.

Are Frank and Abel the only R&B artists this site knows
Besides PND, yeah
There’s def a lot of R&B and Pop in their music but they also experiment allot both of Em
Secondary genres like alternative, indie rock, electronic, new wave….maybe a dash of jazz
whatever their brand of r&b was was lame anyways
bring back the singers that can really SING

Facts
Weeknd & Frank turning their backs on R&B isn’t talked about enough
hmm I understand where your coming from but they both never exclusively never catered to black audiences or R&B. This does happen often, Usher and maybe Neyo are better examplesI can think of off the top of my head. Where they gained a following from a black crowd and experimented and released music that abandoned their fanbasee.
Literlally the only two R&B singers y'all talk about on here.
says alot about KTT
