funny thing, there’s this photo inside the raditude booklet

(without the weezer title that’s just fan added but couldn’t find the original photo so wtv)

obviously this is a yellow album photo shoot attempt, they were never many comment on this from their camp and the fanbase never brings it up but this is obviously telling us they considered officially doing the yellow album, which means they would have went with the raditude material for it - yikes that was a close call, could’ve been career ending lol

feels like white album with the cover having a theme attached to the album that brings some concept idea broke through tradition and open new doors, only to be confirmed with the idea of making the black album so soon after (before that each color albums were separated from like 7 years gap each, so for rivers to get the black album idea and do it so soon confirms my theory as to close it) with a concept and theme that contrasts the white album and replies to it musically, altho compromised with the success of teal

both installed the ideas of concept albums with a theme that he’s getting a kick out of it to work on, see van weezer and ok human and the idea further more to make a full acoustic album for example after that

so it’s like both white and black closed the color idea itself while starting a new idea within them, closing a door to open a new one

but nothing set in stone and within these theme albums he can always go back once in a blue moon to a color album and bring some classic weezer vibes who knows?

I know y’all said you like that Weezer doesn’t take themselves as seriously as Radiohead but for once I’d kinda like if they did. OK Human sounds like it might be their attempt at that but the name itself is still pretty cheeky and makes me a bit wary that it’s not going to be nearly what I’m expecting. They could make their Pet Sounds if they really went all out. There’s bits and parts of White, EWBAITE, and especially Red that show that ambition to make something bigger and better. I just want to hear it come together someday.

the title was just a lack of better idea or maybe the label pushed it same as van weezer bc it sounds buzz worthy (what a headline it’s gonna make and fun for reviews to talk about or get attention to elitists) they both were placeholders names for the files in which he recorded demos of and threw them in, ok human is definitely going to be their pet sounds tho, it’s not like rivers hired an outside producer to arrange like beatles did, he conducted it himself and is graduated from harvard, he knows for sure what he’s doing with it

although for how knowledgeable and talented rivers and skilled he still is gonna want to make something melodic, so don’t except something ridiculously over complexed, he effortlessly could, but ain’t no fun in that - it’s not a sport, it’s just music at the end of the day

believe it or not but by now weezer holds the longest record from when a first lead single dropped to when the album got released

we still have no idea when van weezer is coming, the first single came out in september 10, 2019

had to take out acapulco and queen of earth love both but it cuts the flow and adds too much to the album, moved the position of mansion and little songs cos it flows better

like this it’s super tight and no slow down moment, only maybe everybody wants a chance but i love that song too much - altho im really tempted to take it out to cut to perfect 10 and keep the groove even better

@grimes you should try i know we getting deep lore weezer by doing albums out of left out songs might be too much for you but these are stellar songs some bands which they had as singles, ill link you youtube links if u interested
