i should've filtered out Death to False Metal at the start cuz i keep getting match ups from it and i never listen to it really outside of blowin my stack
Yeah I left that and Teal out but I wanted to keep the b sides cause there’s too many good ones to leave out.
it really is like a greatest hits without being one, it’s old and new, it’s very red album too in how rich in the sounds it is (i could see thank god or jacked up on the red album) but yet far more weezer traditional, green like you say, even some maladroit with prom night! blue and pink on some songs but even combined like endless bummer is butterfly x only in dreams, all the best from the best! some ewbaite stuff too the way he writes the guitar solos here are similar to how he does on ewbaite more than the other albums - yet the album still stands its own and is ultra coherent and consistent within itself, like it’s just perfect for a new comer but to also re establish the band, both for the fanbase but also for where music and production is today
lowkey a masterpiece front to back, best pop rock album contender of the last decade
Exactly, when you mention Weezer it is usually Blue, Pink, or White imo

Other than Old Man which is a great song on it’s own those are all solid but pretty much just radio pop hit songs, so what’s the implications of that 🧐
Love their cover of Unbreak My Heart tbh.

oh i wouldn’t look into that, rivers has always drooled over unbreak my heart and even covered it
heart songs mentions these type of songs
he’s just a sucker for pop songs
he loves cat stevens too
he loves everything
Yeah it rules
it’s crazy it survived the summer songs of 2000 list, so many got cut out and never surfaced again - remember your sister? that song is like one of the most popular from that era i feel like

even if he took inspiration from it it would be hard to tell bc he picks on themes sometimes too so sometimes it would be inspired but sounds not much alike

maybe it’s me, it always stood out to me, the lyrics looking back are prolly a real story but when i first heard it and didn’t know any better i thought like wow they’re going blink 182 style lol
it’s one of the most easiest song to find from that era tho that’s why its one of the first i heard when geeking out so im confident it’s a pretty popular one of all the new songs they tested out during those live shows

Yeah I also really liked the intro to that. Rest of the song is messy.

yeah, can’t take for granted to be able to hear those tho there’s a reason they were never heard of before and never went further than being home demos, it’s just rivers writing and being productive, trying ideas - so i really can’t hate on these as he never intended for it to be known of
still can’t decide which take i love the most for this abandoned gem:
blue sessions?
or pinkerton sessions?

So happy to see white album love. That album surprised me so much when it came out. Every song is great and it literally is their best album in a long time
