definitely a grower lmfaooo
imo it’s the easiest pinkerton track to get into
I don't like El Scorcho
Ay carumba!
Bro im picturing two pigs to these lyrics now im f***ing deeeaad
this fan video hurts:

warning it’s graphic...
imo it’s the easiest pinkerton track to get into
used to be my least fav lowkey
I really like Getchoo, Falling For You, and Butterfly
the other songs aren't really bad/I like them/they are okay (except for El Scorcho)
These songs lowkey better than those on the standard album
it’s because the deluxe songs were the original s*** rivers sent to geffen
but they were like yo where’s the bangers so he went back and did stuff like pork and beans, and thankfully so it’s a banger and massive hit but man those deluxe songs are godlike
tbh i feel like good life is the easiest song to get into on pinkerton
used to be my least fav lowkey
it’s not my fav either tbh altho now it’s fun for me to listen to but it’s the most accessible with why bother id say
tbh i feel like good life is the easiest song to get into on pinkerton
that too
solo + bridge so beautiful
Spider sounding really good already
@HeyFella and me are big fans..
my first comment ever on the internet on a weezer community was me defending this song lol
there was a poll going on and fans were trashing it and i was like how you guys gonna glorify butterfly but think this is unsavable when they’re both acoustic ballads (altho spider has some synths but you get it) with insects as metaphor.. like what does spider did so wrong lol
but then i realized i was talking to trash old heads that wanted weezer just one way - however they had a point about it that sticks with me: the final line “im insane” undersells the song overall, I LOVE the lyrics and where it rambles little by little where you understand yourself he’s insane so for him to just flat out say it is a bit too on the nose
but f*** that masterpiece of a song
this bridge
is that your fav weezer song? i seee you mention it al the time
that too
solo + bridge so beautiful
feel like thats the only one that has the full pop appeal that Blue had, El Scorcho kinda did with it's structure but it was too rough around the edges.
I always wondered, with Rivers being the Kurt stan he is, if the direction Pinkerton went into was influenced by the pivot Nirvana did from Nevermind to In Utero. I know the main idea of Pinkerton was conceived because Rivers wanted to go fully darker with his music after scrapping songs from the blackhole, going through his surgery & overall anxiety with fame but I do wonder if any of the move was Rivers being influenced by the overall ethos of Nirvana going from their most poppy project to maybe their roughest and definitely darkest project in reaction to ever-growing fame.
Could be a reach but has been a theory I've been throwing around in my head lately

prolly that or pork and beans
Wonder if its cowboy hat man singing
no so here’s the thing about the album rivers wanted everyone to contribute so:
thought i knew is a song written and sung by brian bell the guitarist (the one looking sassy on far left of the cover - he also sing the bridge on dreamin) i believe rivers plays the drums on that song yeh
automatic is a sung written and sung and played on guitar by patrick wilson the drummer of the band
cold dark world is written partly by scott the bassist i think he came with the baseline but rivers really wrote the whole song for him to sing on, he’s also the one who sings on king which is also a rivers penned song

Honestly can only rate the last three I listened to since their fresh in my memory, all the other albums I listened to was like a whole month and a half ago and I only gave it one play but
1. Pacific Daydream 10
2.Red 8.5
3.Blue 8
My ranking is
1. Blue 9
2. Maladroit 8.5
3. Red 8
4. Pinkerton 7.5
5. Green 7
6. Make Believe 6
Wbu?
again could be a reach but the more i go over it in my head the more it makes sense.........

my take away is that he wanted to prove to critics and be taken seriously not just a joke band he was putting into so he def must’ve take it from nirvana bc that’s what he wanted weezer to be then
