I was kinda going for a Beach Boys vibe with the track list. Friend of a Friend just got that part that’s almost directly lifted from Heroes & Villains so I threw it in. Also Mitski seeing the existentialism in Happy Hour made me realize that it’s a great opener for middle aged dudes making pop and then a closer like Sweet Mary starts basically with Rivers saying “one foot in the grave”. Just kinda works.

Pacific Coast Highway in The Movies is pretty neat, very obviously has Rivers fingerprints all over it but idk if im sold on the dude's voice.
i thought Sail was one of the coolest hits of the early-mid 10s but the dude's voice isn't really the main part of it lol
