alright so context from what i can remember is i was feeling sad (lol) but in like...an empty, aimless feeling type way

and i didn't, and still dont know how to play piano unfortunately

it was super late and everyone in my house was sleeping, so i couldn't be loud

truthfully i dont even think i was listening to weezer that much at this point. i was on my dumb ass indie s*** tbh. so why this song popped into my head and i wanted to learn it that night, i dont know.

and this was honestly the first run, and maybe ONLY time i ever attempted to play the song 'for real' right after learning/working out all the chords

the long pauses are me trying to remember the next chord

long backstory, tl;dr its the album that was supposed to be made after blue but due to wanting to change direction/perception of the band and increasing anxiety and sadness due to fame Rivers didn't finish it and instead made pinkerton. Fan made comps are out there tho,

yah it would've been cool but im glad we got Pinkerton. Honestly who knows where Weezer would be rn if he didn't scrap it, he was afraid at the time due to the abundant success of Buddy Holly (which he already wasn't crazy about before it was put onto the album, Ric Ocasek really had to push for it bc he knew it was a hit) that Weezer would only be seen as a jokey novelty group and that making a whole space rock opera would only push that and make them be seen as corny relics, and who knows maybe that would've happen if he went through with the project and never made Pinkerton. Guess we'll never find out.
