90s weezer is goated, the most influential but they went there and did it - like no other

blue is fun and intense but more fun while pinkerton is fu and intense but more intense, with two albums alone you get a run that covers the best thrilling feelings with rich musicality

if that’s not enough there’s the b sides to it that adds up to two new whole albums in total - a blue twin and a pinkerton twin, that’s an amazing gift!

and if that’s still not enough there’s SFTBH that’s a whole other album - a space rock one at it!

so while we on the surface have two goated albums we really have a run of 5 goated albums of the same energy and feelings, sounds, id say that’s enough to cover it - for some that’s a whole career (see the pixies of pavement)

green (and everything after that) happened in a different time of society and music hype and trends just like blue and pinkerton did in the first place- it was the age of more intense dramatic serious indie music

an example - the beatles did revolver (blue) and it was amazing but you wouldn’t stop them to move on in music trends and society to do sgt peppers (pinkerton) right? yet they still went on and moved on after that and did the white album (the green album), it’s not as great is it but would you want it any other way?

it’s about taking the product as they are and not wanting the band to be in a frame that you’re making up about them - weezer through even blue and pinkerton were about hooks and emotions and that still runs today
