dunno if anyone answered you yet ( @Ithaka probably saw this somewhere by now) but basically Rivers father Frank is in his 70s now, sometime in the last few years he was brutally beaten while walking home from work, now he's no longer able to eat solid foods and the beating is causing him gradual brain damage so piece by piece he's losing cognitive abilities

Honestly haven’t been able to stand that guy for the past couple years, especially on twitter lately but that’s nice to hear because he is sort of a tastemaker of sorts in certain online communities.

How do you know this? (interview link?) jfc, sorry for his pops I can't imagine having to see him devolve that way

I was confused at the "beat you till you begged to live" part but I thought it referenced a movie or something

Is there more to the story? Did they found the perpetrators or know the context in which it happened?

I'm glad this wasn't some crazy experimental album like so many people were anticipating. That was never Weezer's style and I'm glad Rivers was able to mix up the formula without ditching what makes Weezer, Weezer

Rivers added the info last month about his dad to his site, said that a similar thing happened to his grandfather when he was in his 70s too
