Bad Finger Boogiedunno if anyone answered you yet ( @Ithaka probably saw this somewhere by now) but basically Rivers father Frank is in his 70s now, sometime in the last few years he was brutally beaten while walking home from work, now he's no longer able to eat solid foods and the beating is causing him gradual brain damage so piece by piece he's losing cognitive abilities
