based king 👑
what are your favorites from it
Grapes of Wrath, Numbers and Aloo Gobi
Pitchfork can get f***ed biggest goobers in music industry
they gave emotion a 7 they have no idea what they are talking about
Grapes of Wrath, Numbers and Aloo Gobi
grapes is such a bop
YOU THINK I CAAARRE
BUT I JUST DONT CARRRE
numbers the lyrics
s*** sounds like the bends radiohead, feels good mannn
aloo gobi goooes man
love mirror image, la brea tar, bird with a broken.. ahhh can’t decide a fav
the lyrics of dead roses and the back story to it too
that’s so odd
never heard such comment before
absolutely do not understand what you mean at all
rivers is a great pianist and that song is literally him saying he spaces out playing it when he has other s*** to do
what’s fake about it?
hmm maybe not "fake" as in talking about something that's not true like rappers who live with both parents and going to private sql rapping about selling d**** and being from the streets
What I meant by fake was that it sounds like an SNL sketch song not a real piece of music that was meant for an album
I know both are considered music, songs and art but I feel like there's a big depth difference between songs made by real bands with an aim to create an album and songs that were made just to sound catchy and be "fun" to listen to
It's hard to put in words what I'm feeling but Playing My Piano sounds like something Paul Rudd would sing as a pace changer in one of Judd Apatow movies
It's not a bad song music wise but the lyrics make it shallow imo like this dude is just sitting next to his piano and singing "oh how I love playing my piano it's so fun tralalal"
But also I'd like to stress that only sometimes I feel like it other than that Weezer frkn rocks and I'm definitely a fan by now

no matter what weezer tries they will be ungrateful and condescending

mmm
i think you take it too deep not every song has to be sad for about something serious, in fact it’s nice to have a song where the dude just zoned out playing his piano for a change and bring a light note to an album that gets heavy - like i said dead roses which is about his father who got violently attacked and can’t eat solid food anymore
thank god both of these type of songs coexists, one would be depressing without the other!
glad to know you’re a fan and love it otherwise
AOTY

they acting like making albums as good as ewbaite white or ok human is a given as this day and age and that late into your career where weezer are pushing the 50s - no, rarely no one puts s*** this good that’s as good as their prime days and peak material wtf
mmm

Yeah that's what wanted to say also
I could see how some people love Weezer exactly for the things I've mentioned as something that throws me off
Before rap I was raised on Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Metallica and heavier bands in general so it's easier for me to enjoy harder songs now so when Weezer tends to go into "let's make a happy song with a catchy chorus" I sometimes can't fully enjoy the art behind it
Maybe It'll come with time
@worthit what albums you got to
I don't understand 😅
Are you asking me what albums of Weezer did I check out already?

bro you need to listen to pinkerton right now then
it’s their most intense album ever
very raw
no happy songs at all period
their ultimate cult album
i usually don’t recommend right away bc it’s not very accessible but that seems to be what you need

Yeah I checked it out already and reaaaaly liked it
REALLY liked it
atm I went through
Blue
Green
Pinkerton
White
and Raditude (bc "If you're wondering" is like my top3 Weezer song)
Green was the weakest one imo and it's probably an unpopular opinion
White is my fav I think
And Pinkerton is amazing also

that’s so funny you put i want you to as your top 3 after what you were saying just above about happy pop songs haha
go listen to the deluxe versions of blue and pinkerton it has even more gems in its b sides !!!
mmmm green gets a mixed rep - lot of ppl itt think it’s boring
i disagree i think it’s a summer blast power pop fun for beach party, album feels like a soda during sweaty day! so refreshing
white is goated and is amazing they did this late into their career, album should be in the same conversation as blue and pinkerton
HIGHLY recommend you maladroit then if you want more rocking stuff - it’s by far their heaviest album

@Jerry_Seinfeld did you end up spinning some =w= today or
