it's still a good song, just the worst! across the sea's lyrics are a little too creepy even for the album's angsty themes, and I don't rock with that. it's an undeniable anthem though.

I don’t get the complaint about the lyrics all these years later considering how self aware and ashamed he sounds while singing it. Wasn’t she like 17 and he was in his 20’s at the time, people act like he’s talking about a 13 year old at 30. I never even interpreted his feelings in that song as literal, just more like “I wish someone would want and love me like that”.

Still my favorite Weezer sounding song not made by Weezer that’s been posted in here.

she’s 18 when the song was made, it’s just edgy storytelling anyway they never met or anything it was literally one letter lol
