he's been around the scene since he was 15, and has probably grown tired of all the pointless beefs and competition that is at the core of the scene. that, and the slayworld allegations probably made him realize that it'd be best to stay away from them if he wants to be a mainstream artist.

an artist like kankan, despite blowing up with songs like Woke Up, has a ceiling and will hit a brick wall at some point in his career because of the woman beating allegations (literal video evidence, and they already went viral on tiktok). Weiland probably just wants to be as big as he can and be around better people (and i mean it's working, he's gotten in the room w/ Mike Dean since parting ways with Slay).
