With two deceptively simple, but truly superior bars—”I'm not OK, but I'm gon' be alright” and “Free Gaza, we on the corner like Israelites”—Earl conveyed more about Israel’s relentless assault on Gaza than most of his peers.

    complex.com/music/a/dimassanfiorenzo/best-rappers-right-now

This is a huge factor, even when they dumb themselves down all the music publications continue to treat them like conscious rappers and gas up the most basic lines. Why put in effort when just mentioning Gaza has Complex and Pitchfork treating you like Gil Scott Heron

ion see nun wrong w it fr as long as the artist themselves like what they make and it still aligns with them

lucki is a great case of that imo

ion think his content changed just the canvas he painted on and the brush that he used

it’s hard to use less words to describe the same things fr

Lucki just got less depressed lol
Earl makes very unique stuff when he sues trap beats it’s his best music of the past 5 years, and he rly loves surfgang and clams and s***. His fav album is sorry 4 da flex 3 by K$upreme
Wsg prolly wanted to not do a boom bap song for once

  • Apr 1, 2025

I need a full trap album by Earl every time he does it it’s great and unique and I love it that bnyx snip is great it would be the best s*** he’s made since srs guarantee it

    "deep down y'all do too"

Remember folks c***is a mindset, not a color. Artists that don't even dumb down their lyrics are allowed to rap over any production they want lmao.

It’s not “dumbing down” lol. They got multiple tools in their tool box

I swear y’all want niggas to make one type of music

  • Apr 1, 2025

It’s time to stop pretending non sequitirs of slang is a “tool” or has any redeeming quality other than being able to have something in your discography that fits in with the current climate

Also that type of music sucks from someone like Earl who can’t straight up say the s*** Chief Keef does unless he just started lying and pretending like Lucki did

We already have (insert whoever makes him want to make music like this). Lmao hell we already have Lucki

If it must be done, s*** like 2010 is a much better take on this style than going to BNYX lmao imo tho

Producer is popular = bad for rapper to use them and automatically not unique

I like a lot of lucki newer stuff but he just turned into future veeze hybrid with a few more clever lines than they do lol

the clever lines are hard but overall doing his current future veeze etc hybrid style is a lot easier than being a dot kendrick or even tyler smino sean (or even lucki eck$ lol) type rapper who tries to pack in more of those lines vs filler “i trick on shallow b****es and im the man in my city” bars for 80% of the song lol

    D**** R Bad pending/loading lol

I had a LiveMixtapes/Spinrilla app full of that type of music a decade ago and i promise you i’ll outlast you in a trap niggas we listen to right now-off 😆 i have nothing against that general style of music outside of it going from some niggas genuine expression to niggas just being lazy/wanting to fit in. i like some of those type songs from Earl and Mike but I feel like s*** below is way more innovative, same for Lucki old style

It just feels like “the disease” of everyone wanting to sound the same has finally even reached the niggas who used to hold the torch of standing “over there”

Im also gonna try to ignore the undertones of a whiteboy saying this “to me” lmao (they have no choice but to talk like this or be looked at as a racist lmao). Niggas (or #FFFFF’s in this case) ain’t never heard of NGeeYL or Lil Tony or Street Money Boochie lmaoo or even someone otw up in that lane rn like Belly Gang Kush trying to tell me I’m looking down on trap music because I want the weird beat niggas to keep giving me weird beat niggadom

Lmao this would work on anyone else who hasn’t been tapped into “that type of music” since it literally started lol

  • Apr 5, 2025

it’s crazy how good body high is really my favorite lucki album

  • Apr 5, 2025
    mr get dough

Earl be sliding when he hops in that bag man im sorry

He’s one of the only niggas from that side of hip hop that can get in that bag with no effort

Making the Band and 2010 some of my favorite Earl tracks, most niggas with that rap style would not sound as cool as he does on those type beats

looking down on trap music because I want the weird beat niggas to keep giving me weird beat niggadom

But that is by definition what you are doing by saying things like this.

The reason the “big 3” was the big 3 stood out so much due to their versatility because drake didnt just do 40 beats for his entire career and kendrick didnt just do sounwave beats for all his career. Even Cole finally realized he had to stop producing all his s*** (and cooked up a classic afterwards ironically)

the disease of everybody wanting to sound the same

That’s if you look at it like a disease and not just people vibing towards what they like. You posting MIKE clips to “prove a point” when it’s folks itt that have followed him for years on ig and see the type of music he posts in his stories, this just a natural progression.

The only time I see your point is Westside Gunn on And Then You Pray For Me but he’s already not like the greatest rapper tbh. Give Benny or Conway those “modern” beats and they goin off.

I just think everyone (even the trap niggas) should be able to branch out. I do agree with your earlier point about the street niggas should weird out too. I been wanting to hear YB on some sample s*** for years smh lol
