DAMN. is an absolute classic
He went to the depths of hell conceptually and lyrically some of his brightest moments rest on that album. He was on fire from start to finish on top of still making it a huge record that was the sound of its time. It really shows he does his more artistic s*** by choice, and is still great when making more palatable music. Essential album in his discography and far from a stain, i dont even think people really even understand how brilliant of an album it is
The only Kendrick album I think is better than DAMN. is to pimp a butterfly but id never be mad at someone picking gkmc over it

I don’t think it’s a stain in general, just for the portion of his fan base that doesn’t care about cross over commercial success
I wouldn’t call anyone wrong who loves it, but me personally I’ve historically not enjoyed singles
Swimming pools and HUMBLE are instant skips for me and I don’t enjoy hearing them at his shows either, but I understand the world doesn’t revolve around me and I don’t think it’s a bad album by any means, it’s just less classic than his other classics for me personally
