    Really?

Yep. Not just Montana but also New Mexico, Colorado, North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, places with lots of space and low population. There's also a huge one in Germany and dozens in New Zealand. Read this article if you wanna be blown away by how billionaires are preparing for what they call The Event.

The south and rural areas have long been vilified for racism, but the manifestation of systemic racism happens mostly in the urban centers that are considered liberal safe havens. It makes sense because that's where the highest concentration of minorities actually live. Small town America is for sure bigoted but they are also rather lacking in diversity.

There are still abhorrent, loud mouthed racists in the south but the majority of people get along and interact well. We have more well intentioned people that don't understand racism and contribute to it unknowingly than outright bigots

    Out of curiosity why?

Boston is filled with tight-knit Irish Catholic neighborhoods that have been all white for like 200 years. They rarely interact with black people and are generally raised racist without opposition. Western south Carolina is what people think of when they think of the racist south. I'm in the middle in a majority black city and frankly I'd say this city is the place I've witnessed the least public racism. A lot of well intentioned people here that have supported policies that may have contributed to systemic racism, but a lot of people are just now understanding how that works. Generally people here truly care about their neighbors and show it in every day interactions. Then eastern SC (Charleston at least) is weird bc people are more liberal but it's also very segregated bc freed slaves basically started their own neighborhoods and the housing division still exists.
