Just finished Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age; it’s a charming JRPG that’s completely comfortable staying within the conventions of the genre, from the chosen one / light versus darkness narrative to the standard turn-based combat system. I enjoyed the characters and their adventures through the world, and Akira Toriyama’s art style really shines in this setting.

Mu only real complaint is that battles can often feel sluggish due to how long the animations and messages take to play out. Turn-based combat systems should really be following Persona 5’s slick and stylish lead.

Uncharted 2 is 10x better. So glad I kept playing the series.

Man I agree with this 100%. I’m almost done with UC2, just a couple more chapters away. It’s crazy how much better is than the first.

If you’ve never heard of it I can’t stress enough to check it out if you’re a fan of either Deus Ex or Blade Runner as this game is basically a crossover of both, and in fact your character is Rutger Hauer himself, from Blade Runner! his last performance before his passing.
