It's pretty good I do think the pacing is bad tho, the game not allowing you to stay in a level to explore after getting the stars is annoying and the later levels aren't very interesting because the gimmick kinda becomes stale after a while and they keep throwing reused assets at you

Still quite an enjoyable game but yeah

Well I enjoyed it enough to play the new game + so really I like it

Started Resident Evil 2 remake today. Pretty good so far, I feel like it would have been perfect with gyro aim but it’s still fun. Played RE1 on Gamecube a while back and the tank controls were a bit too antiquated for my tastes, but playing this makes me want to go back to it at some point

this game pretty much improved on all the issues i had with the first game. movement and gunplay were a lot smoother, doing the special moves with the melee weapons came out consistently, the voice acting was improved significantly, even some of wangs corny jokes got a chuckle outta me. the story didn't completely catch me but it had a lot going for it compared to the first game (which i don't even remember that much despite finishing it a few weeks ago )

they went insane with the weapons in this game, the designs on some of them were tough and apparently there's like 70+ weapons which i dont even think i unlocked all of them lol (some of them you can get from doing the side missions). the graphics were also really good in this, stages were pretty vibrant and still looked decent even on my old ass gtx 1070. overall id rate it 8/10, fun game

I’m like 60% done with spider man it’s a good game but only like a 83 for me so far (also clearly the ending section could get even better) . A lot of potential for future games

finally, the last game in the shadow warrior trilogy (unless they make another one idk). i'm not really sure how i feel about this game. i think out of the other 2, this is most refined shadow warrior gameplay wise and might even be the funnest one in the trilogy, however i can't help but notice the heavy influence of doom eternal has on this game.

the first thing that made me realize this was the addition of glory kills. the animation for it is very stiff looking and i even caught it glitching a few times as i would perform them through rocks or the enemies head would flat out disappear while doing the animation. there's also a lot of platforming in this one as well, however i will give this game credit as it has a grappling hook and wallrunning which feels pretty fun to do. aim down sights, parrying, and sprinting are completely removed in this game. even the massive catalog of weapons that were in SW2 are now shorten to just 7 weapons. this isn't too much of a loss because they feel great to use in this game (except crossbow that s***s ass). the katana now gives you health/ammo after slashing an opponent similar to how the chainsaw in doom eternal gives you health/ammo. the game is extremely fun don't get me wrong but i did feel like i was playing a diet version of doom eternal. i felt right home playing this tho as it was fun shredding enemies with combos just like in doom. (example below)

this is also the shortest shadow warrior by far. it took me about 8 hours to beat this but only because i was playing this on hard mode so i got stuck on certain parts. ive seen average playtime for this go for 4 hours so i imagine you could probably beat this in one sitting on lower difficulties. the story for this is simplest of them all, its quite literally lo wang and his gang trying to kill a dragon. thats it. lo wang also got a new voice actor for some reason. the new voice actor sounds like hes doing an impression of the last voice actor which just sounds really off to me. i always thought lo wang jokes were pretty corny but i got used to them by the second game, but the jokes are borderline dreadful in this one. overall id rate this 7/10, pretty fun game.

sidenote: the graphics are pretty good in this game but for some reason this game weirdly ran better than the 2nd game on my pc despite it coming out last year. SW2 came out in 2016 and was making my pc sound like a hellcat idk what thats all about but i digress.

God Of War Chains Of Olympus on a PSP Emulator on my phone. Really dig it, great for a portable console entry from 2000s.

Finished Episode Intermission of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The narrative content was lighter than I expected (I guess the developers didn’t want to do too much in a side story), though the little that is there does set Yuffie up to be a more interesting character throughout the rest of Remake.

Yuffie is such a well-designed character within Remake’s combat system in terms of versatility and nuance. Combat in Rebirth is going to go above the already excellent system in Remake if the rest of the party is brought up to par with her.

what a breath of fresh air this game is. on the surface it looks like a usual boomer shooter, low quality graphics, fast paced gameplay, yadda yadda but that couldn't be further from the truth. it uses its influences (quake's movement & devil may cry's stylish meter) and builds upon them in a very unique way. the first few levels of the game serve as a trial run for you to learn the mechanics of the game because once you get to the first real boss of the game, you are expected to have everything the game teaches you down to a tee because he will kick your ass with EASE. the game really encourages you to mess around with its sandbox to kill off boss & enemies in stylish ways

speaking of the sandbox, the amount of tech and mechanics you can pull off with them are through the roof. from tossing coins up in the air and shooting them to ricochet into your enemies or punching your shotgun rounds to cause an explosive effect, this game has it all. i still haven't mastered all of them myself cause there's just so many things you could do on here.

it's not really clear what story is leading too as its still in early access but what's there is intriguing. the difficulty in this game can be a b**** sometimes but it feels fair. the bosses are very challenging but are very interesting to fight against. also the soundtrack is fuego, it ranges from dnb, breakcore? (admittedly i dont the right genre name for some of these tracks) ambience, and some really epic sounding s***. great stuff all around.

not gonna rate it because its still in early access and is gonna get another act down the line but i already have a feeling this gonna be a personal favorite.
