Going back to it I’ll admit I’m 100% nostalgia biased but this album is pretty good.
Great features from Hov, Wayne, T.I., Jeezy, The Dream.
Drake felt like a relatable every man dealing with being thrust into the limelight. It was an interesting perspective.

So far gone>>>>
Everything on this was pretty forced and/or cringe, drake didn’t really sound confident on this
First single Over the perfect example with that dragging ass hook that goes on forever before it even starts to get going
Find your love never goes anywhere once you ve heard the first verse and hook you ve heard the whole song and it coulda been so much more
Fancy sucks and that hook just sounds like jeezy if he became insanely zesty overnight
AND THOSE ARE THE STANDOUTS (for the most part)
Some of his best songs on there
But also 3/4s of it is ass
its an amazing debut album and was extremely overhated
I prefer so far gone but it has some good songs. Fancy is one of the most underrated of Drakes hits imo and find your love is the blueprint for the drake I like

Fancy is peak. Unforgettable is such a vibe
Light Up is Drake and Jay’s best collab imo
Cece’s Interlude
Even the song with Nicki went hard. Only skip is Thank Me Now

thank me now is amazing

You've been riding Drake's d*** so hard across the whole website you're gonna tear an ass muscle
The freest version of Drake. I miss him sometimes.
"Better late than never but never late is better,
They tell me time is money, well, we'll spend it together."
Terrific debut
Had a lot to build on. I do agree tho on Find your love, kinda just there but the nostalgia is there
catchy and corny which perfectly captures what drake is about... not that it's a bad thing at all, i personally love it lol
The young money songs are garbage
The R&B songs are good but he got much better at them by Take Care
The 2 Kanye collabs are great to me but I might be biased
The other rapper collabs are fire to me, the song with Jeezy is a classic and Fancy beat switch is still one of my favorite moments in his catalog
Edit: forgot about Light Up, wouldnt call it fire but it’s solid

drake has said it was the album where he tried to cater to the label and billboard games the most and feels like half the album is him trying too much
which part of why they released marvins room as a single on tc as kind of a f*** you which the label didnt want them to do - and then the success of marvins room is what started the labels/industry relationship to let him do whatever he wants
its in the 100gigs iirc

I think I remember he said this on the MTV special they did surrounding the TML album release
