Juelz Santana
Cole (he should have been bigger than Kendrick)
Wale
Big Krit (slightly. Not a superstar but at least a couple of gold albums)
Lupe Fiasco
Why should cole have been bigger than kendrick?
Why should cole have been bigger than kendrick?
because he had more female fans before kendrick got more indie hipster female fans

Cole played it more safe than Kendrick or Drake and when he did experiment like KOD it just wasn't good. Born Sinner wasn't near as good as GKMC and by TPAB the gap between them was already big
Jai Paul without a doubt. my mans got robbed of his opportunity at crafting his magnum opus, which he was most definitely gonna shake the game up with had he got to release it the proper way he intended. hell, he still did shake the game up just off of it in leaked format, but i could've seen Jai being much bigger than he is now, maybe not mainstream like The Weeknd but on a Frank Ocean level.

FHD outsold TPAB so you dont know what you are talking about here

Not a bad take at all, How big could he have gotten?
Cam'ron even though his legacy obviously ended up being really good for not ever truly being a top rapper at any time.
the part that puzzles me is how washed he became over time. dude was epitome of cool for about 4 years and then fell off the face of the earth. however, he was definitely top 5 in his prime

I didn't know we were talking about sales lol you brought up their fans and I thought about how Cole doesn't experiment as much as Kendrick so that's why he hasn't grown as much. You have to try new things for old fans to stay and new fans to join them just an explanation
But he still was a part of some bad situations that stunted his growth
Even dating back to his first deal.
He should have been a top 3 commercial success type of rapper at his peak frfr
he made mistake after mistake and tbh, he only cared about the money side of things. that's why he invested in real estate early on and wasn't as active in his music career as he should be. Rocky is like the modern day version of that, with fashion substituting business
Lloyd for sure
Mos Def if he kept making BOBS tier music instead of delving to acting and then coming back with experimental rap rock
