If you actually followed that week, Spotify and Apple Music were literally going against each other in the press with Scorpion's numbers. It was the biggest event in streaming history, so obviously the services wanted to be able to say they came out with the bigger number.

Spotify specifically went out all to try to beat Apple's numbers, however he still ended up doing higher numbers on Apple regardless.
