Kendrick is 10x the rapper Jay Z is

if you think accolades equals popularity you are so out of touch it's embarassing

TPAB is still played today and was the anthem for what went down last year. Kendrick's accolades are a reflection of how timeless his music is. He's yet to drop a project below a 9 in quality. Please don't talk music if you don't know what you're talking about fam

That's ok. Still doesn't mean those are better than anything Kendrick has done. I play Da Drought 3 over DAMN. any day but I can see that Kendrick is the better artist.

I would say all three of those projects are easily better than Section 80 and DAMN. I'd also comfortably say Tha Carter 2 is better than GKMC

  • Kdogone

Section.80, GKMC, TPAB, and Damn>mixtape freestyles

nigga not section 80 and damn maybe the other ones

You ever witness a Wayne album drop in his prime?

    Yes. Every album since C2.

Wayne managed to create hype for his Carter series and thats it, whereas Kendrick does it with every album. Effortlessly.

Wayne will never be truly relevant again whereas Kendrick will most likely NEVER lose relevancy.

    Nothing. He can’t.

He will never have their influence and impact by being a recluse

If you can't see that Kendrick has surpassed Wayne by now, then you just don't know music and that's OK.

He gotta do what he’s been doing a bit longer. The output Hov and Wayne had in their prime was relentless. Every year something dropping.

branch outside of music and start doing stuff that influences the culture and media besides just dropping music. one of the reasons people like jay-z and wayne are held to such high standards (also goes to people like kanye) is because their extends outside of just music. they dominate media cycles (or did dominate at their peak) and participated in a wide array of influential ventures that made them seem larger than life. kendrick is somewhat doing that with pglang i guess but it feels extremely muted. compare this with Wayne's omnipresent feature run + media appearances + sponsorships/ventures/appearances or Jay-Z's string of highly publicized business ventures.

That's your opinion. It's a trash opinion though.

maybe you don't listen to Kendrick like that but there's a reason he has accolades cause obviously everyone else listens to him

I listen to Kendrick. I'm usually surprised how many people I run into that don't listen to him often. They respect him but they don't even consider him in the conversation for the most part

Those accolades were almost poltical. The albums he produces are great pieces of art, but it doesn't reflect the mass consensus of what's hot. He's considered Avante Garde
