Yeah the UK scene will definitely breakthrough the American mainstream this decade

I'm big on originality and it's nice to see the Bronx started what I believe to be the most significant move in the nyc drill scene which is the sampling of older well known song. The biggest criticism(not really even criticism, just a brought up point often) of the nyc drill scene was what people perceived as their beat jacking from the uk and from my pov it was reflected in the rhyming patterns of the nyc cats who didn't grow up on fast pace riddims like they do in the uk and I think now that more nyc producers are coming with this new sound, it'll help the nyc scene TREMENDOUSLY.

been bumping DThang last few days, homie nice. 26ar 🔥 too

Tbh, I don't think that's the uk rap artist goal anymore as much as it was a decade ago widespread. Like for instance, a artist like Russ Millions can/would benefit from being in America because of the lane he's in musically but I don't think that success would be wide spread. In rap, theirs many sub categories: street, wave, drill, trap, trap wave, deep lyricism, etc and with where the scene is here in America, I would say certain artists can benefit where some won't notice a affect.

I think what the uk wanted as far as acknowledgement from America has kinda come in through the form of youtube reaction videos & (I can debate this) Drakes early cosigning of the uk(granted he's Canadian). My perception of the uk compared to when I was in highschool 7yrs ago is drastically different.

I don't believe the uk scene as a whole will ever become mainstream but theirs a handful of guys who can become mainstream in America such as like Central Cee or Fredo. Tbh, I just want more uk usa collabs, especially between the nyc and uk drill scenes

    We're post-coastal

    No we're not lmao.

Only people that think that are those outside the culture, non-Americans or those that got into Rap through the internet.

It's always coastal, regional & country side as long as niggas are still being born. You dont have to have a stereotype or unified mainstream sound for it to be coastal. Its literally just births, pride & a numbers/popularity + impact/influence game.

This isnt true. And tons of artists also fans still have hometown, home country & home region pride.

Also i know Florida is east/south-east Geographically, but Rap wise i feel the genre & myself has always thought of it & repped itself more as southern which is why Kodak is in my south rep of 2010s.

Semantics but you get the jist.

Anything can happen in this era due to the internet.

Australia could become a thing for all we kno.

Kid Laroi is already a example of that.

Having one popping artist don't mean your hood is dominating. It's a movement of growing talents that makes a city or region to really be felt.
