so I'm 23 & i decided to go back to school last year for film, my grades were great but i hated every second of actually being in class. it was a community college but still; anyways dropped it last semester and thinking of going back just to finish but idk it seems most jobs come from connections rather than a piece of paper. I'm willing to work for my money but minimum wage is a joke and I just lost a pretty good job. lost rn bros what y'all think? in ny btw for any suggestions
niggas push college like it's the only way to get some good money
that's what I'm saying I guess my problem is finding other ways. I'm not afraid of anything and I'm smart, where do I go from here?
Ain’t no garuntee either
Gotta do mad extra stuff to secure an actual good job
Just heightens your chances. Sad
Just do it bro. I’m 25 going to a CC planning on transferring to LSU in Jan. Gotta think long term
I’ve been working since 18 have a hell of a resume and lost my apartment last year. I moved in with my grandma and started going to school. College aint for everyone but it makes life a hell of a lot more easy.
18 on my second semester and honestly considering dropping out and picking a trade and focus on producing music. the only class i enjoy being in is music production class so I think that’s saying something lmao.

pretty much same here man. but I refuse to become bitter, just wanna provide for myself if school is the way ill do it
If u wanna do film just get a regular job and fund your own s***
id like my day job to be film crew set stuff
If you want to do film you have to be a sicko and try to be #1 otherwise you’ll just end up a wedding photographer like the rest of the failed photography/videographer people

I can only give you anecdotal advice and say stay in school and make music throughout. meg the stallion did it so can you. unless you hate school; but don't drop it for music

That’s more so connections honestly
Joining film related Facebook groups
researching casting calls online
showing up and doing free handiwork around set
All better ways to get on set than film school tbh man. I’m deep into my film major and bet I can relate. You tired of talking about movies now you wanna make em. Search some local Facebook film groups in your area

Just wherever you live search a film community for that area. Or “creatives” community
Going to school for film is probably one of the biggest wastes of money on this earth

Explains why 99% of the film majors I’ve met are literal sociopaths

The deep and deeper I get into the industry the more I realize I chose the wrong career because this is NOT the job for people with souls smh
