If someone is from my parents generation they aunts and uncle, if they from my generation they cousins and if they from the next generation they nieces and nephews…you can miss me with that first removed, etc nonsense

weird how 1st cousin once removed could either be your cousins kid or parents cousin. very different relationships and the latter would be consistently much older than the former so why do they share the same term

Only calling people from my generation my cousins any kids they have is nieces nephews, and cousins of my parents and grandparents are uncles/aunts, even with extended cousins/uncles/aunts we have a pretty solid connection and are around each other a lot
