Carpentry was obviously a filler my friend so let’s not act like cats, you’ll never catch your tail.
Trains are up next btw so this is all very coincidental and funny
Always loved this subplot and miniature trains seems like a great hobby
Feel that but worst is when u dont even f*** with the song like that but someone does
I’m like “bro that’s s***s ass trust me this isnt my good music”
Soooo real it’s like thanks for the compliment but now like I can’t trust your judgment 💀
An outlet
Proudness
The fact that we were so disciplined to essentially create and bring to live, an idea or vision that only existed in our heads and we'reeable to replicate into a real life product and that others can enjoy too, is magical
life
Big healthy boner
It's like I'm spilling my subconscious into a material thing. The greatest f***ing feeling is making something and returning to it after some distance and thinking how the f*** did I do this? It's one of the few things in my life where I don't need motivation to do it. It's both super low stakes, but also has the potential to satiate my soul like nothing else. I also am eternally grateful I am able to give back to the thing that has literally shaped who I am.
It also works your a***ytical brain in a cool way, like how did they flip that sample? How did they write that hook? How did they make the bass play with the vocals like that?
There's this Yasiin quote I love: "There's only a few people who really love music, and they're all musicians."
freedom of thought
For me, it allows me to take moments in my life, especially those that are the most messed up and dark, and really reflect on them. And by reflecting on them and understanding the emotions and perspectives surrounding those moments, I'm able to take ownership of them and feel more at peace.
Why music and not carpentry
There's an intangibility to music that makes it so much more special. Making a great song is like making the empire state building out of 2x4s. It just lets us go beyond our selves
