I know thinking hurts your brain but I’m not talking to the adults here
Interested in him from a self-development perspective. Not engaged with his political leanings and don’t intend to be. Currently reading 12 rules, only a few chapters in - some interesting points but very dense and somewhat of a chore to get through. Going to keep pushing though and hopefully will get value from it.
I’m a big self-development and education advocate, and my philosophy is to consume as much content like 12 Rules with subjectivity. You don’t have to blindly agree with or put into practise everything you learn, but it never hurts to broaden your perspective and apply what you find useful for your situation and needs.
It’s one of those cases where you can separate art from the artist in my view. Even the most flawed people can teach profound lessons
I feel bad if this is true but this sounds like me trying to make up a crazy story at a party.
One of the greats (still haven’t finished his book tho)
Love his takes on equality of outcome vs. opportunity and change coming from within.
hes not alt right. so try again
Everyone who is conservative leaning is alt right.

I'm all for personal development, but don't you think being as dependent on SSRIs and benzos as he was kind of disqualifies him from the self-help genre? I once saw somebody claim his daughter was "proof that his philosophy works", but she was on just as many meds as he was, and then I guess she ultimately went on an all-meat diet or some s***.
It's like someone who got liposuction writing a weight-loss book.
A old and reactionary man, who found a segment of confused boys who couldnt find a balance in their digital life, because of how society has evolved. And they get instant gratification from surfing the internet, but get nothing done cus of it. Therefore they get unhappy with the life and turn to his book (i did read it) he give confused boys the antitote, by giving them order in a very chaotic time. Which is finw, but his views and political standings is for very old people, older than my grandpa.. snd many of his arguments can be countered.. for example thathumans behave more like bees and insects creating a society where there different jobs etc. Instead of the lobster a***ogy.. not much wisdom in his book..
dude can't even follow his own advice so why should I lmao
Jordan, why, do you want to turn into a lobster?
