I'm bout to read this again. I'm interested in hearing yall thoughts.
ok i’ll give my thoughts
Robert Greene is an intelligent man, he was a classicist. He’s also not self aggrandising as your average guru
The book is by the authors admission, inspired by the toxic personalities he dealt with. It’s ultimately meant as a defensive book. As any student of game theory will tell you, acting Machiavellian will perpetuate conflict rather than end it. Keep that in mind.
The historical examples are well researched and sourced. I honestly believe it’s a good book, but as with any book, it depends upon the openness, insight and critical thought of the reader
lmao.
The author distills the most common-sense advise. Don't know why it's so acclaimed / commercially-successful.
cause a lot of people lack common sense
48 Laws is basically the Capitalist Bible
it’s morally bankrupt but so is capitalism
the laws are a step-by-step guide on how to survive and protect yourself in a country as ruthless as USA
it’s best to completely suspend your emotions when reading
Author himself said he doesn't follow all the laws, otherwise you'd be a sociopath a******. Good for practical use or understanding game. Avoiding mistakes; that being moves and people
If you don't have a personality and you live life by a book lol you doomed my G
when i read it my takeaway was that if you have to learn this s*** from a book yngmi. most of it is super obvious behavioral traits that people already have
add on: the laws of human nature is a far superior book by the same author which is often positive in message and recommendation
far healthier book that encourages introspection
