Lmao I’m just trynna use a simple real life example

Look at the demand for the PS5 right now. You think we’d be even close to meeting 1/4 of the orders that have been shipped under communism when capitalism can’t even get this one right?

Like PS5s aren’t being sold cuz they can’t make enough not cuz mfs don’t got the money to buy it. I been ready since it was announced and I still haven’t been able to get one.

Where tf I’m getting a PS5 when half of society is focused on solving climate change while the other half is focused on housing everyone lmaooo

also bots buy multiple PS5s so other consumers can profit off of consumer demand so you have guys not buying PS5’s and selling them for 800-1000 dollars

    people aren’t gonna afford that

what a sad materialistic outlook on life

my own time with video games comes before the survival of millions of people 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

Well no. I’m asking you guys to accept a reality or at least make a consistent argument.

So far I’ve gotten like 3 different responses to my basic notion that PS5s wouldn’t be produced under a socialist nation.

I’m not a socialist so yea that’s how I feel boo hoo for them ppl I want my PS5.
Others in here are telling me we can have both. I say that’s unrealistic.

I am asking you, do you think that is unrealistic or do you think I am correct in saying we have to choose one or the other and under communism we are most likely choosing to house everyone before a single PS5 is produced, right?

thats what yall sound like dying on the hill of capitalism which is actually inherently less democratic

Lol everytime your ideology been tried democracy flew out, and I'm not talking about socialism like in south americ, I mean marxist leninism maoism. Every time people die and democracy doesnt happen

And guess what: people still starve in those countries

Do you really think this is why these things happen? Because rich people think giving food away on their own accord is somehow authoritarianism?

  • We can help the less developed world by cutting our barriers to trade with them, would do more than any communist regime ever

it’s absolutely realistic but it will not be a priority in a communist world. The production capacity of the world far exceeds whatever idea you have of what it is. The issue is that capitalism literally based itself around ARTIFICIAL SCARCITY to create demand and value

guess what democracy not happening in an oligarchy/corporatist society either, but its closer to happening when workers have more of a say at their workplace and get more of the surplus created rather than someone sitting on their ass collecting $ off the hard labor of someone else

Bro I will be honest, the last thing I'm concerned with right now is the PS5, I see why you could use it as an example of supply and demand and s*** but I'm not really like... worrying about playstations right now

Oh that’s funny that you bring up such an anecdotal AND individualistic argument considering the insane demand levels for the PS5. Almost as if the democratic majority wants PS5s and doesn’t really care about your individualistic opinion, no?

    Synopsis

so youre telling me you can't get a ps5 under capitalism and now youre worried about why can't you get one under your narrow view of communism

No you’re telling me I don’t have to worry about it under communism

I’ve waited like 2 pages or sum to be explained how this could be the case

  • Dec 8, 2020

Idk but I’d like to give it a try

Nope, these countries are genuinely democracies. Trying to reframe the definition is goalpost shifting and lazy
