    Literally used to describe any and everything, but there’s no real concrete meaning. A album that’s absolute dogshit will get called mid and then call a solid 7-8/10 project mid it makes zero sense to me

    it doesn’t mean anything

    it’s the same thing as “no replay value” or “came and went” or “aged terribly”

    just buzzwords to throw at a project to detract from it

    Mid = average

  • Sep 11, 2023
    Unforgivable

    Mid = average

    That’s what I thought at first but it genuinely has no meaning anymore

    J Cole

  • Not bad not super good either, just middle of the road, the term became used more when it became super easy to make an OK song with a beat made of loops and a rapper just sounding cool over the beat.

    obviously most things will be middling, actual greatness and being legitimately bad are rare in this era where you can easily get passable quality beats from youtube, a decent mix, pirate recording software, etc
