It’s not a literal end of history
It’s more a stagnancy of society because our forms of government and economy are inherently conservative and also achieved hegemony over the state of affairs in our world
damn
Do you have recommended readings to go further into this subject it’s got my interest tbh

My only philosophical retort to this is that it does seem that western democracy is woefully unprepared to combat the converging crises that we’re starting to face as we move toward a post-pandemic reality:
I’ll grant that the author does acknowledge “temporary” detours into totalitarianism even in the “end of history” that could last centuries, but what gives us the evidence that western democracy - particularly US/EU democracy, which is extremely young in a historical context - has a stronger likelihood of survival than a fascist/totalitarian state enforced by scarcity and environmental hazard? At that point, the lack of international conflict seems like less of a foregone conclusion.
Idk, fascinating stuff regardless. Really appreciate you sharing. The best part of political philosophy is being armed with perspective as it unfolds.
Finally found this video covering a similar topic. (Generational Cycles)

How can we correlate this to the music industry or media in general?

The beginning of it, it’s prolly gonna run for another 2-3 years before we get something IMPACTFUL that changes it

Hmm do we start with someone ie Miles Davis & Coltrane establishing the 1st turn... Turn 2 - Stevie, Rock n Roll. T3 Prince MJ era. We also have funk, classic soul and radio hits. Leads us to "Prime" Mainstream Hip-hop of Jay, Nas, Kanye. Drake would be the last leg of the 3rd turn (late 90s rnb, pop and neo soul included).
Now headed into the 4th turn we're in this current era of "crisis". Technology has made music more accessible thus has leveled the playing field of art creation more than ever. Musicianship has been replaced for loops and zip files. The bar for 'good' singing has dropped drastically. Most of our favorite singers all have a similar voice/style. Getting a deal seems easier than ever and social media clout is more profitable than being talented. What's amazing is that imo, we're maybe 2-5 years into this "crisis" era. Maybe longer though tbh. Streaming plays a big play too.
Maybe after this turn is finished, we may see a rise in classic musicianship and record label ethics.
Media as a landscape, that requires more thinking lol... although we could start the turns when cinema becomes perfected maybe 100 years ago...
