Are the 800s hard to drive? If so, aside from the bass, might be the only weak spot it has. Oh man, That sucks. The only alternatives to the Darkvoice that I know of is the Little Dot MK2 and Little Dot MK3. So, if you can find those across the pond, you should give them a look, but only if you're ok with tube rolling too.

Only 300 ohms which is the same as the 600s but they would benefit from a little more power to take full advantage of the sound.

I don't mind tube rolling, those are also fairly hard to get here sigh I'll try and get the Darkvoice, they look really good.

need replacement for my m40x I got in 2016/2017. the stems connecting the drivers/cups snapped on one side with the other following shortly after. usually I'd be fine with it as I just zip tied it but now the leather on the pads and headbands are disintegrating. I feel like I should DIY it like this guy to reduce waste ect youtu.be/QgnH51lTXgg but idk if it's worth the time and money. anyone have any thoughts?

just get the 6xxs, but if you're a basshead or listen primarily to hip-hop just get another pair of m40s

I just got these KZ ZSN Pro X earbuds, they’re pretty cheap as far as listening equipment goes but they’re the first “good” pair of earbuds I’ve ever owned, and compared to the wired Apple earbuds they’re great. Bass is boosted at a nice level, and actually sounds clean as f*** instead of muddy. Mids are still there just fine and the highs are also boosted a bit.

Also got them with foam tips, that s*** is so much better than plastic

@pneumonia do you listen to hip-hop with your senns? i can't listen to any hip-hop with my 6xxs or sundaras tbh. i like the bass in my face and the only headphones that come close are the m40xs. i might need to get me some bass / hip-hop headphones soon.

Yeah I do but not often, bass is actually pretty good but that might be because of the dac I'm using. It's just fine for me, I don't like the bass being too overpowering.

Just an update on these, I played Comeback Baby from DAYTONA with these, and... snares are a lil too sharp for me. Kinda disappointing cause the bass is so nice, plus the packaging's been tossed, so I guess I'll be swapping between these and the ol apple buds depending on what I'm listening to

@pneumonia Got my girl some 58xs. They finally came in the mail yesterday (after waiting for about a whole month) and she was blown away by the sound quality. Great entry audiophile headphones. It's only up from here.

@pneumonia From what I've ready, the 800s isn't forgiving of poorly recorded music and will highlight the flaws at every given chance Make sure to stay away from any Indie Rock, Punk or Post-Punk from the late 70's / early 80's, if any of that is true.

All I listen to is 80s Post-Punk and they sound glorious, could very well depend on the dac/amp but I’ve had no issues listening to early music.

Thank god that wasn't true. At least in your case. What genre do they shine the brightest with? How many pairs of headphones do you have?
