Call me insane, but I genuinely believe that Airpods pro with accommodations on are my favorite sounding “headphones”. I prefer them over my ATH-M50x and Airpods Max
Anyone have any recommendations for headphones for entry level. As much as I listen to music day to day I figured it’s time I finally invest. Only headphones I’ve had is solo wireless beats 3s. Loved them but the headphones died on me. I listen to all genres so I want something that’s good for all around music in general. My budget is 300
Sony MDR-1am2 cuz I heard nothing but good things about those and one of the best all rounders. In fact I ordered a pair for myself last night and excited to get them, btw they retail for $300 but you should get a pair much cheaper nowadays
Huawei Freebud 3s for basically all things and then when i'm home i just use speakers. I think im gonna get the Sony xm4s :)
Currently using TRN V90 iems. Been on the lookout for some wireless earphones. The Nothing Ear 1s look pretty good. Also wanna try out the BLON BL-03 even though its wired cause i hear good things about it.

Sennheiser HD 600, any model will do the job for entry level.
lin soul T2 is perfect for commuting in my recent finds even though it's slightly old still a great wired legend.
I got Sony WH-1000XM4 earlier this year and I love it so much
these the over ears?
Yes they're over-ears type of headphones.
how are they? should i cop or wait for the xm5s? i have beats studio 3s that work fine but i’m prob not getting audio quality anywhere near the sonys

Well if Sony releases a XM5 this year so will it be in September or October 2021... If not then get it when it's on sale on Black Friday or Cyber-Monday or if it's still $249 like I saw it last week I think it was then so will I find a link and @ you about it

Alright so you wanna wait then... Good move tbh!
I've seen no leaks about a XM5 fam so this means a September or October 2022 release of it which means get a XM4 in October 2021 and then if you want to get the XM5 when it's out or some time in 2023 when it's on sale

Sony MDR-1AM2
A bit niche in the headphone space but oh man they’re so good. They have the same driver as the Sony Bluetooth overears everyone raves about, but they’re wired so the sound quality is better than on BT headphones.

Had those for a month and returned them, loved their sound but the sound blockage imo was subpar

Yeah they’re more desktop speakers even though they’re closed back. They don’t have great noise cancellation so not good for commutes or loud environments, but perfect for like your computer setup or at-home music listening.
do i get m50x or 6xx
I have both the M50x's and 650's (6XX's and 650's use the same driver and are reportedly identical sound-wise)
M50x's are closed-back so sound isn't going to spill out easily and they have a bright and colored sound. The impedance is 38ohms and they don't require an audio interface or amp.
The 650's are open-back so noise will leak. They have a mostly balanced sound other than the low end which isn't too powerful, so the kick drum / bass won't stick out as clearly. The impedance is 300ohms, so you'll need an audio interface or headphone amp which can support them.
I prefer the 650's by a long shot, but It mostly comes down to your preference of closed vs open back, colored vs neutral sound, sound source, listening environment and your reason for using them.
