No one on here knows the law or business well enough to explain it to you. All the explanation you need is that the lawyers representing Drake are very expensive because they are very good at their jobs and they believe Drake has enough for a defamation suit. Any other opinion on KTT isn't worth as much as guys who probably graduated at the top of Harvard and Yale Law. Come on now

and so does umg and spotify who is even more expensive and already discrediting him

anyone with more than two neurons firing can tell a lawsuit that cites a mysterious Akademiks guest and a tweet is a flimsy basis for suing a company

but hey, let the money shape your perception and tell you what to think

whoa I wouldn't go that far

He did win against Common and Meek Mill. Both good MCs

He can hold his own against elite MCs like Kendrick and Pusha but once they go really low and really go in, he's crumbles under the pressure and disappoints on some James Harden s***.

How did he win against Common? I never know if he did. I’ve never seen it celebrated but Stay Schemin was nice I won’t lie.

    I feel you

but I think it's important to remember that the Crux of the case is UMG using various methods to artificially boost the song including collusion with Spotify. Which they do for every artist they want to sell well. I assume this will be verified pretty easily in court, and that is part of why Drake has a semi-valid case.

I don't agree with his decision to do it in the context of rap beef bc I think he should have either barred out or just accepted the L.
But from a legal perspective I'm sure his legal team is confident.
Honestly, I predict UMG may just cut Drake a sizable settlement check to avoid getting tied up in court with their biggest artist. They still want his next album.

  • It’s nothing to get bro. This the old I’m white and I say so offense he is running. Drake has benefit from corporations his entire career. He never had a gripe with UMG until he got his ass dog walked. He now is trying to salvage the rest of his pathetic career but he doesn’t understand that he can no longer be apart of culture. His next move will be to become super right wing and try to leech off of those idiots over there.

At the end of the day, Drake brought this on himself. He literally gave Kendrick his consent to drop the record multiple times.

And now with every step he makes, Drake is reaffirming to the world that he is who we've all made fun of him for being since day one... a sensitive dork.

No lawyer that have spoken on this case has shared this sentiment. And if you think a case has to be good for a lawyer to take your money then you have no idea about what’s going on.

sidenote: a thought i think you might like

i was on autoplay and the things played squabbled up and then count me out music back to back on youtube

gnx's more "down to earth' and straight forward album also being about his culture and roots make even more sense now off the MMBS

of him trying to come back down and also correct his mistakes at home, while trying to get over the inflaated ego n image of himself

he came back home and grounded himself - very beautiful in this context

yeah i didnt even entertain it

he also makes it seem like drake is the only one with "big spooky high price lawyers" and also makes it seem like every has sued out of good cause or actual merit which isnt true neither

Put your law degree on the table and maybe I'll think about giving you a serious response. This is meant to be a serious discussion after all.

I think UMG can spend more on legal fees than drake can

And there are plenty of s***ty lawyers in the world, wouldn’t be hard for drake to find one that wants to take a bogus case for a little publicity
