they only get paid like $2.13/hr and coming from a former waiter/server that doesnt translate to s*** after taxes. also males get tipped A WHOLE LOT LESS THAN WOMEN

i had to work twice the hours and twice as hard to keep up with the women.

i would go in from 10am to 10pm and still only make what my female coworker would make working from 2pm to 6pm and even then they would complain about their feet or how they're ready to go 🙄🙄

but there's a huge underlying prejudice thats constantly in the air dealing with ppl of all different culture and backgrounds.

pretty girls are at the top of totem pole. an example: im a black guy, if i drop a tray of food....then i know for a FACT that im getting cussed out and im not getting paid s***ttt.. pretty girl drops a tray of food then its "ahhh heyyy dont worry about it, i know you've probably been working real hard. you in school? heres a 20 dollar tip. keep up the good work" lol

i still made good money but thats because i worked 12 hours a day. i made a deal with my boss. i would "clock in" on my scheduled hours and then stay on the floor after it was time for me to clock out. i essentially opened and closed the store every day.

not everyone can make this kind of deal....actually im the only person that i know of that ever does this.

a lot of ppl just do 4-6 hour shifts and they still complain. but its understandable. its a VERY high stress environment

i would always try to keep a rotation of 3-4 tables going at the same time. i figured even if i just got like a $3 tip then that times 4 would be like $12. but still i would kiss a wholllleeee lot of ass and usually get $5-$10 tips so i would sometimes make like $20-$40 an hour....which wasnt as often as i would like.

but ONE time this upper class family gave me $113

my car had broken down that week so i was working my ass off. i put in like 110 hours those two sweek. made like $1300. put it all into my car and i was thinking "well at least ill get my little $50 check and to my surprise what did i get.... a check that said "0.00 this is not a check"...

according to my job i made too much so they couldnt pay me 🙄🙄 smdh
