And you can still listen to his newest stuff after doing all that?

Niggas listen destructive content every f***ing day but we're supposed to stop listening to an artists because he realized savior role is flawed and decided to stop? Seriously man, how does that make since?

  • Nov 21, 2023

Jay literally bragged about "gentrifying the neighborhood" because it meant it was still, partially, "black-owned"

Nah Kendrick Stans are just as annoying to me personally for reasons I laid out earlier in this thread. Drake Stan's at least you can identify them early and ignore them asap. Kendrick Stan's move in the shadows

Nah Kendrick and Drake stans are pretty overt nowadays, but I think early Kendrick stans, esp the white ones, really played a strong role in the cultural rift right now

There's a certain level of anti-blackness and anti-black art that strong contingents of both Drake and Kendrick's stanbases bring to the table, through no fault of Drake or Kendrick themselves, but some of y'all aren't ready for that conversation

    That's what I'm saying

Like I find Mr. Morale to be way too personal and self-involved to run it back often but I respect the angle he took on it and a good chunk of it like "Father Time", "United in Grief", etc, are great songs that don't hold onto some of the pretenses Kendrick can bring into his music nowadays

What makes you think he can't do a song like the shoe fits when he's done songs with storytelling way before drake lmao. His entire first album was an interconnected story with higher highs than drakes. Even just how much a dollar cost is in that same lane and was done better.
Drake always gonna be the better hit maker but that's his lane. Lyrically he's significantly above drake and even cole.

Drake stans will act like you have to be black and in the clubs to truly understand whatever his newest album at the time is and s*** on anything that is “alternative” or non mainstream

Nah nowadays Cole could totally rival Kendrick imo

Letting white Americans get super involved with rap was a diceroll but white European rap "heads" are either overtly racist or covertly racist and enjoy making fun of or at least exploiting black poverty for personal gain

I will not listen to a white European rapper on the strength that they are white Europeans lmao

  • Nov 21, 2023

This thread is really doing wonders in exposing who or who aren't the stans tho. Everyone's biases and preferences when it comes to rap are on show. Maybe OP is actually big brained and is doing to community a favor.

Which is wild because Drake has a colossal, indeed strong majority, white fanbase

Kendrick stans often mock any kind of rap that isn't super lyrical, "high concept" artistically, and socially conscious

The tension these two groups create between each other is awful

Nah I won’t go that far lol. Yung Lean, Bladee, and Central Cee (if he counts) are good in my book

Yung Lean is cool and Central Cee is lightskin but he's not a mayonite

Either way that's 2-3 people out of an entire continent, throw The Streets in there and that's a wrap for white Europeans

  • Nov 21, 2023

Yall be on d*** fr! Dot could easily drop heat if he wanted to but he in 3000 mode with his career.

Plus the last time he shared what his life is like niggas called it ass.

  • Nov 21, 2023

There are a whole lot more slurs out there he can write about

  • Nov 21, 2023

Like truly aside from Yung Lean, Bladee, and The Streets, name a white European rapper anybody cares about

  • This site is f***ing trash. I just want the mods to admit that it’s funded by OVO at this point. Drake already obsessed with Ye so I wouldn’t be surprised.

    BDK vs Rakim

    Drake vs Kendrick

Eh it wasn't that polarizing back then though, aside from maybe Wayne vs Lupe but even then mixtape Wayne was a beast and everyone acknowledged that

There's a damn near civil war going on in rap rn between "club" rap, "street" rap, "experimental" rap, and "conscious" rap, to term them very broadly. Never seen this much division artistically before

isn't he working on a musical with trey parker and matt stone
